Cannes, France

Hands down our most favorite destination in the Mediterranean...so far! Cannes, a resort town on the French Riviera, is famed for its international film festival. Its Boulevard de la Croisette, curving along the coast, is lined with sandy beaches and mega yachts, upmarket boutiques and palatial hotels. Cannes was like no other experience, a luxury dream that I wish everyone could experience.

PLAY.

We booked a fantastic excursion on our one day visit in Cannes and I cannot recommend it enough!! We did a vespa sight seeing tour around the coast. I had booked it through GetYourGuide.com which I've used frequently and have had nothing but extraordinary experiences. The meeting point was right at the marina and it was just Zach and I and the french tour guide. We signed some papers strapped on our helmets and hopped on the vespa's! Because Zach didn't have a motorcycle license I wasn't able to ride with him, so I rode with our tour guide. The tour had 5 main stops.

Our first stop was at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, aka where all the most famous people and celebs walk down the red carpet for the Cannes International Film Festival and many more special ceremonies. With an overall space capacity of 35,000 square meters for exhibitions and 18 auditoriums this venue hosts various conferences throughout the year. Our tour guide mentioned Facebook holds its annual social media convention there and buys out the entire boulevard for its guest (housing, dinning, drinks, entertainment) for the entire week. (WOW)

Back on our vespas we rode a little further and stopped at the tip of this parking lot where the small cross stood. I couldn't really remember the meaning of the cross in that location but I do remember our guide telling us that the main strip along the beach Boulevard de la Croisette got its name from this cross. In french small cross is croisette :)

Our next stop was a more forward facing view on the French Riviera as we rode through the marina of the rich and famous yachts. Let me tell you these people have got it made! I've never seen so many beautiful boats in my life! We stopped at a dead end next to an Arab Prince's 250 ft Yacht and took in the views. Our tour guide mentioned that it cost just a slim 15k a day to have your yacht docked at the marina....nothing else! LOL #insanity

After a 20 minute ride along the winding roads to the top of a mountain which over looked the French Riviera...breathtaking. This was our tour guide's secret spot next to a 13 million euro home over looking the water!

From there we took the winding roads to the other side of the riviera, the old town where the buildings were different colors and the roads were so narrow. Our tour lasted about 2 hours and we spent the rest of our day laying out on the beach for a late picnic style lunch.

EAT.

We arrived at 10am and the first thing I got (even though I had already eaten breakfast) was a mouth watering fresh nutella crepe from a snack stand. UGH there is nothing better than a fresh crepe! Before we went on our vespa tour we had some time to kill and were told that the Radisson Blu Hotel had a great roof top bar...it was better than great, it was outstanding!! 365 degree views #JawDropping . There I enjoyed a sweet peach Bellini and Zach a large french beer. For our picnic lunch on the beach we both indulged in baguette sandwiches and a cold beer! Yum YUM YUM!

Love love love Cannes France! Have you been?
